Containers

Day 268

I was watching Enough Already on the new OWN- and Peter Walsh, organizer extraordinaire, was helping this episode's hoarders part with their over abundance of stuff. He kept insisting that they keep only what would fit into various storage containers. Walsh said that containers are perfect for people that have too many things because the containers set parameters. They don't allow for excess. A full bin is an indicator that it is time to reevaluate your wants and your needs. It made such perfect sense.

Our bodies are adequate little storage bins- able to maintain our hopes, fears, dreams, expectations, and daily obligations. But like Peter said- once it's full we MUST reevaluate what is important to us and make room for the good stuff. It's all the junk and excess that's making us fat, and hypertensive, and diabetic, and absent minded. We only have this one storage bin to last us the whole of mortality and I am going to make a sincere effort to fill mine with nothing but quality.
